donshushu@cbt-stl.com Apr 25 [I am passing this along in case you all aren't aware of this.] Ayya Dipa Dear Friends, Bhikkhu Bodhi, one of the foremost Buddhist translators and scholars in the world, is coming to the St. Louis area in early June 2013. Please find attached three posters for the upcoming events with Bhikkhu Bodhi here in St. Louis. To register, please contact donshushu@cbt-stl.com ASAP. Information will be provided about the event and overnight stays, seating, etc. Note that seating is very limited for this Teaching Retreat. We have space only for around 40 people. Already almost half the spots have been accounted for. Therefore, people will be accepted on a first-come basis. Regretably, we can only accomodate people who can register for both days. Overnight stays are available also on a limited basis. The events are as follows. 1) Vesak Day -- Sunday, June 2 -- No preregistration needed 2) Bhikkhu Bodhi Teaching Retreat, Friday and Saturday, June 7-8 -- Preregistration required, limited space (Suggested donations: $50 for food and facilities; $50 for teachings. No one turned away for financial reasons. Additional donations for the teachings are welcome.) 3) Global Relief Walk, Sunday afternoon, June 9 at the St. Louis Arch This is a rare event to have Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi visit us. Please make your plans early. The retreat space is very limited, so please sign up early to reserve your space. We're excited to begin our new Saturday Study series  on The Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. Saturday Study meetings occur on the 3rd Saturday of every month after our regular 9am meditation. Each Saturday Study meeting will start around 10:15am and last about 45 minutes. Open Sit Evening Meditations - now through 2019

We now offer Open Sit evening meditations on the first and third Thursday each month in 2019. Please note the schedule below is subject to change. The Open Sit is a silent, group meditation with a simple format: between 7-8pm you can come-and-go any time, just do so mindfully and quietly. A bell is rung every 20 minutes; use it as a cue to change from sitting to walking meditation, or walking to sitting meditation, or just remain in the mode you're in. There is no formal guidance or discussion. This event is free and open to all. General Info Open Sit Evening Meditation Doors open at 7pm, close at 8pm.  Come and go as you please.   Our host church, National Avenue Christian Church, is hosting the National AIDS Memorial Quilt from December 1 through 5, 2021, so all Ozarks Dharma Community events will be moved from the Parlor where we normally meet to the upstairs conference room during those dates.  Please enter through the south door on Portland Street, especially if you are bringing food or drink with you.  You will be turned away from the Gallery entrance if you have food or drink with you because of the AIDS quilt, but you may enter through the south door near the stairs with your refreshments. We will return to our normal location for all events starting Monday, December 6, 2021.
